My Professional and Private Life Fashion Differences

posted on 7 February 2012

It seems that I have placed clear line between my professional and private life when it comes to fashion items. For my private traditional going outs and hangovers I usually have items that are giving me more comfortable look. In my dressing probably the most effective way to look like that is presented by the shoes. They are white trainers and they go well with almost everything I wear. They are a bit expensive but they worth every cent. I like to wear them in winter and in summer. Simply there is no weather that is bad for them, except for snow of course. The second piece of fashion item is for my professional life. It is a nice, heavy wristwatch. Wearing it makes me fill more good about how I look in meeting or business negotiations. It is with silver metal collar and the shape is rectangular. I like to accompany it with some fashion bangles too. It does not have digital time and date presentation but it has a nice orange line with gives me the thinking that no matter how professional I will have to look in meetings, I still keep the sport spirit within me.

On Giving A Gift From The Heart

posted on 30 January 2012

For years my family has worked hard to give gifts that are from the heart, not just from the pocketbook. Gifts from the heart are not heart-shaped pieces of wood with doilies glued on to them. Rather, they are things that have the potential to move and continue to touch the recipient for months or years to come. For example, on my twelfth birthday I received a weather barometer from my Dad. He knew that I was a scientist at heart, who loved to take readings of things and make predictions. I started immediately on a weather forecasting hobby that lasted me well up until I was 15. There are three steps involved in selecting a gift from the heart. The first is to think very hard about the recipient to determine what particular type of gift would somehow be most meaningful. You have to think about the person in a larger than life sense, getting to what inner qualities and personality the person has. The second step is to validate your hypothesis by asking tactful and vague questions of the recipient to determine if your hunch is correct. Another idea - you can't beat handmade gifts. The time spent making the gift is a gift in itself. I have some jewellery findings and other tools I use to make jewellery, for example. The final step is to acquire the gift and wrap it. I should caution you that giving gifts from the heart is not always easy and you can make mistakes. When you do, the gift you give may fall so far off target that it can become sort of laughable. Always save your receipts in case the recipient needs to exchange your heart gift for something more immediate or practical. But know that you will be loved for having made an effort even if it was a little bit misguided.
